Wow is all I can say!!! AME would like to thank Derek from Stratotech Park. Derek gave AME the Grand Tour of this awesome facility. For those of you who have never visited Stratotech, I highly recommend it. Stratotech features kart and motorcycle racing. The main building and garage is 22,500 sq. ft. and it has everything you could possibly need. A full service Kart shop, engine building and maintenance, concessions, a dyno, Pro Shop, classroom, and even a second floor lounge that over looks the track. The Paddock area is a gigantic 94,000 sq. ft. and there is plenty of parking and plenty of spectator seating. The track it self is a professionally build 1.7 kilometers long track that features 9 corners.

Stratotech Park is the home of Steen Hansen's Track Days. We are very lucky to have the opportunity to ride our motorcycles in a controlled, safe, non-competitive environment. Track Days is all about riding, how to become a better rider. I was very impressed on how all the teams helped each other out with everything from extra parts, to advice on bike set-up, and riding techniques.

A big hand goes out to Rod and his team for putting together a fun filled and exciting Track Day. Riders from all over Alberta and even some riders from Victoria mad an appearance, and they all has a great time. Track Days is an all day event. The gates open at 8:00 a.m. Orientation at 8:30 a.m. Registration at 9:00 a.m. Riders meeting at 9:45 a.m., and the session starts at 10:00 a.m., and does not stop until 6:00 p.m.

Riders are broken down into 4 groups. The Argyll Motorsports Performance Riding School is for less experienced riders with no previous track experience. A great class that helps you familiarizes riders with all the corners and track lines. Instructors lead this group and passing is not permitted. The Cycle Works Street Group is for less experienced riders with some previous track experience. Passing is not permitted in the corners. The Echo Cycle Fast Street Class is for riders with previous track experience and passing is not permitted in the corners. The Alberta Cycle Motorsports Race Class is open to riders with race experience, and these guys are good.

Track Days has its emphasis on safety. All bikes must meet certain standards and all riders must wear protective equipment. Full Leather Joe Rocket suites are available for rent on a first come first serve basis. Hey Rod, are you going to get some leather for us big guys? There is also an on site photographer, a dyno, race fuels and a nitrogen filling station all available at Track Days. Richard had the video camera on his bike and some of the footage will be made available at www.amemagazine.com in the near future. Check the events page for the next Track Day and be sure to stop by. All spectators get in for free!!
